A Warm Welcome From The Executive Director/Superintendent
Roosevelt Campobello International Park – 2025 Season Welcome from the Executive Director/Superintendent
Roosevelt Campobello International Park is proud to welcome visitors back for its 61st season in 2025. Following the tremendous success of our 60th anniversary year, during which we recorded over 260,000 visitor experiences, the highest in over a decade, we are excited to build on that momentum with renewed purpose and inspiring new developments.
As the only park in the world jointly owned, administered, and funded by the governments of Canada and the United States, Roosevelt Campobello stands as a living symbol of friendship, unity, and mutual respect. For over 60 years, and in the spirit of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, this park has embodied the enduring bond between our two nations that transcends political differences and speaks to our shared values and history.
In 2025, we are proud to unveil a bold new strategic plan with a refreshed mission, vision, and long-term goals to guide our work into the next 60 years. Visitors can expect meaningful enhancements to interpretation, stewardship, and access as we continue to evolve with care and responsibility.
This year’s highlight is the grand opening of the Witapehkewakoni – Awt/Friendship Trail, a unique and long-anticipated addition to the Park. Over seven years in the making, the new trail opens up access to over 1,000 acres of previously undeveloped parkland. The trail features a state-of-the-art metal bog walk and bridge through the ecologically significant Lower Duck Pond bog. The trail offers a unique experience through woodlands, wetlands, and coastal vistas rich in biodiversity and natural beauty. The trail reflects our commitment to conservation and education, offering visitors extraordinary opportunities to engage with the natural environment in new and meaningful ways.
As always, Roosevelt Campobello International Park remains a place of peace, partnership, and shared heritage. Here, visitors from both sides of the border and worldwide can come together to experience the best of our natural and cultural legacy.
We look forward to welcoming you in 2025.
Jon Southern,
Executive Director/Superintendent
